Repatriation referral (non-emergency) Pathway

Click the PDF links below to download the CenTre’s acute transfer paperwork or nurse-only transfer paperwork – pages 1 & 2 or each document show the information we typically require at the time that a referral is made. Most repatriation transfers are undertaken by a nurse alone so the nurse-only paperwork will be used.

However, if the infant will need a medical/ANNP escort as well then we will take the referral using the acute transfer paperwork. A medical/ANNP person is added to repatriation teams where the infant needs respiratory support (CPAP, ventilation), has umbilical lines in situ or is otherwise unstable or unpredictable

If transport nurse is free they will take a full referral. If busy, they will call you back later.

 Ensure paperwork is completed prior to team arrival
and all requests for feeding plan, fluids etc
have been addressed

 On the day of transfer please reconfirm cot availability and inform transport team to say whether
still available or not

If cot is no longer available the baby will need to be re referred when cot is available
